Be careful. The website allows you to book a car online but no guarantee they have it available. In todays world of online ordering, that is very poor. The first alternative they offered was much smaller and electric powered, so completely unsuitable for the need, the second option was twice the price. Sure, someone phoned to tell me this after my online booking was confirmed, but I was unable to take the call, no voice message left, and they only tried to phone once. Very unimpressed, lot of time wasted, cancelled the booking. My first, and likely last, experience with Sixt for my company account.

The pick up experience was amazing, I was serviced by Stephan and he was extremely polite, knowledgeable, and he explained the process exactly to me in details. He also offered me different types of insurance and he explained the difference between them, making my choice easier. In the end I received the car and it was a perfect ride, very good rental experience and extremely happy with my choice to rent from Sixt. Thank you Stephan!

Had a very unfortunate experience (from a customer experience perspective) and in the end it cost us 1/3 more for the rental for no fault of us. Raised a complaint, but had limited success in reporting and getting valuable feedback.

The car was ok with no major issues (although some were present in addition to what was specified at start of rental - but that’s just how all the rental companies roll)

Thanks to Sixt, my wife and I were homeless for two days before we got a replacement car. In addition, we were charged for the period when we did not have the car. An extensive e-mail describing the problem was followed by a brief reply with an offer for a discount. Subsequent e-mails were not answered.
The service in the office is very professional and helpful, but the phoneline is staffed by people who "can do nothing and know nothing".

The receptionist cheated on me 500,- extra for my 15 days rental because I was there 1 hour and 1 min. after the pick up time of rental, my contract was not valid anymore (1 hour is indeed written in the fine print of Sixt) and since (of course) any other car in the same category was not available anymore, I was obliged to upgrade to a much higher class that was I actually needed.
All in all no client courtesy, it’s just robbery what they are doing there. Next time I will go to concurrents

I just received a reply from customer service that does not solve at all my complaint, see below:

As per our standard procedures, we allocate rental cars based on availability within each car category reserved. While we strive to accommodate specific preferences, the exact make and model cannot always be guaranteed.
Regarding upgrades, if an upgraded car is available at the branch during your rental period, we will gladly offer it to you based on availability at that time. Please understand that this is subject to the current inventory and demand.


Please be assured that we take customer feedback seriously and strive to resolve any issues promptly. Our branch team will review your feedback and take necessary actions to ensure we improve our services where needed.
