I’ve had almost exactly the same experience as I’ve read in other reviews.
I tried to call to find out what I’d be charged being a little over an hour late No answer after multiple attempts . ( like most others stated)
I went over to return , was waiting on another unhappy customer , waited 20 + minutes which added to my return being later
Mr behind the counter eventually told me the late charge would be $20, I said for a little over an hour? He responded with it’s usually $30
I said I needed to go fill car with gas ( because I wasn’t wasting time if I could keep car one more day depending on the late fee cost
I went got gas , came back to return and I informed him the back right tire must have a slow leak and suggested I be reimbursed for the money I didn’t adding air to the tire.

Twenty miles into my trip , after I picked up the rental the low pressure light went on
I had to stop to add air , purchase a pressure gauge and be concerned for the rest of travels over Thanksgiving weekend
I filled the tire with air two additional times before returning it.
I reported this out of concern for next renter.
He went out inspected and found a nail and was trying to tell me discount tire would probably fix it for free.
I said I got the car this way and I’m not fixing it

Meanwhile his music is blasting loudly on the back counter.
He checked me out and said he’d have the manager call me. Asked if I wanted the managers card , I said no , I won’t be calling him.

I’ll be calling corporate - Hertz/dollar should be concerned they are represented like this

I rented a car on 1/18/25 at the Tempe az store. It was 9:30 am when I arrived. I had to wait a bit because there was only person helping the customers. The other person was in charge of cleaning the cars. The customer in front of me finally finished and the customer service representative began to help me. We were interrupted by the first customer coming back to complain about an over charge. The representative helped her before finishing up with he. Once he was finished he proceeded to tell me that my reservation was not until 11:30. I showed him the reminder message that was sent to me. He then said that he didn't have a car for me. At that point he began helping the person behind me, then rented their return vehicle to me. From there on out, I had to hear about how little I was (5"0 feet). Both employees just laughed. Then they began to verbally play with one another about changing the radio station. Then it was about how loud the music was. Mind you there were at least 12 people behind me, waiting for their turn. During this time the very unfocused representative, was getting my contract together. He asked me if I wanted additional insurance for window chips. I asked how much more and he told me 26.99. I asked if it was per day or a flat rate. He stated it was not every day. So I agreed. After checking out. I noticed the the bill had an extra $188.+ change added to my bill. I went back to the representative and showed him the bill. He looked at me, then looked at the line. He said I would have to call customer service. Plus I didn't get my AAA discount. Neither employee, did a physical walk through of the car. I took pictures showing what damage was already on the car before I rented it. Customer service took my complaint, but told me that I had to wait for a refund after the car was returned. Absolutely ridiculous! I do not recommend this business.

There is a reason why this location has so little stars and horrible reviews. The employees are so unhelpful and clearly don’t want to help they get annoyed when you try reaching out. They don’t train anyone well enough to give you any insight on your account, they ask you to contact departments that are impossible to get a hold of because they don’t want to help. And bother you for money. Worst experience ever.

Absolutely abysmal. Laughably bad and infuriating. Gave me a car with low tire pressure leading to a flat that I had to pay to get towed. Took me an entire day as well as a disgusting back and forth with the tire people saying that they originally wouldn’t pay for it even though I signed up for the insurance. Finally got them to agree after hours. Gave me an EV when I don’t know how they operate and didn’t bother to ask. Didn’t give a charger and forced me to go to public locations to charge. When I returned the car the man “helping me” was very rude and vague on what he was asking. Asking “you didn’t bother to charge the car?” Which is not how you speak to a customer. He also took his sweet time, on purpose. He purposely walked incredibly slow and talked incredibly slow just to draw time out I had somewhere to be, and thankfully I made it. A nitpick but everyone was just goofing off on their phones 90% of the time. Is there so little to do that you just sit on your phone and watch videos all day and get paid to do it? Horrendous company and service.

There is nothing false in this review. Initially we rented a 7-seater suv, but when we arrived we were told we couldn't rent the original vehicle (it was too big) due to the hertz software and my age. But at this time, scott helped us, and he quickly helped us find a good car. And scott is a very warm-hearted and kind person. He didn't sell us any less effective packages. On the contrary, he actually chose the most suitable insurance for us, which made us very moved. We were very happy with his service during the car rental experience.

Great prices but ran out of cars soooo I don't recommend as we are stranded now. - refund is a pain because they never answer the phone. Don't know what's up with that but just do better. When someone pays for a car and you don't have it maybe let them know ahead of time. Will never trust this company again.

As I showed up for my car another man was 2 steps in front of me. His reservation was at 12:30PM (it was 9AM) and he got a car early. This was the last SUV they had now making me (my reservation was at 8) unable to get a car. Fast forward an hour and a half of them "trying to find me a car" and I canceled and went and got a car from Enterprise immediately.
Do not rent from hertz, they do not reserve cars that is merely a way to get you to put money down. This is not only this location. How they still exist operating like this I do not know.

My insurance company set up a rental for me through this location, I tried to call and ask some questions, not 1 person answered the phone even after 5 attempts, the phone just rang and rang and then hung up. I am very unsatisfied with the service at this location. Both all these bad reviews you would expect them to make ot better but clearly customer service does not matter. Take your money elsewhere or go to a Hertz that actually processes everything within a timely manner.

@hertz, instead of replying to this review, take that time to actually process requests or do something about customer service. This is unacceptable!!!!
