Absurd cleaning fees here, be very aware that they charge $200 if they have to vacuum the vehicle. I have never had to worry about a bit of dirt or grit left over, but they claim this took them "a long time" to clean.

Charged me $150 because there was some pine needles on the floor and some cookie crumbs from my children on the seats. Cleaning fee is a scam and likely goes again Hertz's corporate policy.

While the check in experience went well checking in did not. Said I had dog hair in the car and it wasn’t to the quality it was originally found. I’m allergic to dogs, clearly wouldn’t have a dog in the vehicle. I went and vacuumed and washed and wiped down the interior. Someone else was then there to check it back in and said there was dog hair, again. And was rude and said “we’d never give out a car in that condition”. Clearly you did! I will not be using this place again if this is how you treat Presidential Circle members.

The staff here are rude. I'm here picking up the car and they've not smiled once. No eye contact. I'm having to insist on accurate photos of the vehicle since the ones she took don't even show the full exterior! Not pleased.

UPDATE 9/9/24 THIS LOCATION HAS FRAUDULENTLY CHARGED MY CARD $229.14 AFTER STATE FARM ALSO PAYING THEM. I'VE FILED FRAUD CHARGES WITH THE BANK AND MY BANK IS NOW DOING A CHARGE BACK TO GET MY MONEY REFUNDED, ALSO STATE FARM HAS CONTACTED THEIR HEADQUARTERS DEPT AND FILED A COMPLAINT AGAINST THIS LOCATION,
SO NOT USE THIS LOCATIONS, THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF* Horrible experience with this location. The lady was rather rude. The mini SUV that the insurance is paying for is garbage. This car was dirty, no wind shield washer fluid, inside the back hatch door wasn't even attached with its clips, you can tell this rental has been in an accident, sensor lights won't go off, the dents, the smell of black mold when you turn on the defroster and heater etc. Called state farm and filed a complaint along with hertz. Was told I could exchange vehicles but if course none of the hertz locations have any available cars. And for $42.59 a day I could be in a luxury car with another car rental company. Thank goodness state farm is contacting another company today
So that I can get out of this disaster of a rental car

I temporarily stayed in Tacoma for 13 weeks for work. I used Hertz at the S Tacoma Way location everytime except once. But everytime I was met by Paul and his coworkers. They are very welcoming and recognizes frequent faces. Everyone is attentive to each customer as well as me. I always called before going to pick my car up at 11am and they always had a car available. They are also quick to fix issues. Once I had a car with bad breaks and Paul quickly changed me to another vehicle even though they were low on cars, which I really appreciated. I also had a time where I rented a all electric car and hated it due to the inconvenience of it and even though it took three days to trade it out. The employees at this location called me as promised as soon as another vehicle was available.

The rates are also within my weekly/monthly range. I would go through Priceline. I was always charged exactly what Priceline stated or less. Of course you must have a credit card for holds until the car is returned. Also when you go through tolls you will be charged so save your receipts if you paid the tolls to dispute. Other than that, no extra fees for me.

The customer service is why I always returned and will in the future. Whenever I return to Tacoma, this is my place to go.

Placed a rental a week in advance, got called 2 hours before I was supposed to pick it up and they told me they had no vehicles available. Completely unprofessional and offered no solution. Very disappointed

Be careful, this business makes falls advertisement. You pay x amount online and they charge another x amount in person.

Their employees are money hungry and have no remorse ripping off people.
