I had a wonderful experience with this Hertz location. I found myself without a working vehicle for a week while I waited for my new car to be delivered. I made a reservation for a rental car at this location on a Saturday, close to the time this location was closing for the day. I called to give the staff a heads up that I may be late, and Manager Trainee Michael Rivera could not have been more helpful and understanding. Despite arriving a few minutes before 12, Michael was pleasant and provided a very positive rental car experience. He was able to upgrade me to a nicer car and made the reservation process so seamless. He even made sure to tell me how much he appreciated that I gave him a heads up about possibly being late that day. I’d recommend anyone looking for a rental vehicle to go visit Michael at Hertz.

I prepaid for my rental car on Expedia, and still had to wait for over an hour to get my car. As in standing in a line for 45 minutes, and then had to wait at least another 20 minutes for them to clean the car. It wasn’t a staffing issue- there were at least three or four people working behind the desk, and a few others in the parking lot moving cars. Absolutely absurd and 100% against what I have experienced with Hertz before. Do not patronize this office- there are plenty of other Hertz rentals in the St Petersburg area to choose from.

EDITED - note their copy/paste reply to my review. Exactly like the others below. What a joke. Obviously they have zero interest in providing true customer service. Seriously- avoid this place.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I’ve been a loyal customer at this facility for years, but the service has taken a nosedive since Shawn became the manager.

I rented a vehicle on 12/17/2024, picking it up at 4:00 PM and returning it at the same time on 12/24. Despite following the agreed timeline, I was charged for an extra day. When I raised this with Shawn, instead of addressing the issue, he offered to give me the customer service number to call – passing the problem along rather than taking responsibility. The rental agreement even listed the wrong pick-up time, which contributed to the error.

Under previous management, things were handled professionally and fairly. The attention to customer service is no longer there.

I won’t be returning to this location, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Honda set me up with a rental while my car is being repaired and the car they gave me is INFESTED with German roaches rent elsewhere!! Update: Also then called to have the roadside assistance tow it back and they wanted to CHARGE ME $250.00 dollars to have it towed.

Rented from here many of times the last few months after my car was totaled and before I bought my new one. The workers at this location are really great people and I only had good experiences. Would definitely recommend this place and will be back if I ever need another rental.

The manager charges me because he find a cigarette butt in the car. 400 dollars for an outside car wash. The car didn’t smell like smoke nor was the outside dirty. Treated so poorly..

The workers here are dishonest. I got charged extra because they didn’t have the car I selected in stock, which isn’t my fault or issue, yet I was still charged for a vehicle upgrade and was told I had no other option which I later found out is simply incorrect. The car I got also was not clean - it was full of dog hair and reeked of wet dog.
