Flew in for a ski trip with 7 family members. Thought I was getting a Suburban. Ended up with an Explorer short. Literally 1 foot of luggage space behind the seats. Not even close—give the Suburban I rented!! I had ordered a ski rack thinking that would simplify ski transportation. What did I get? A magnetic single-ski rack—the likes of which I’d never seen. Who uses a single set ski rack? The kicker—it attached to the roof with large magnets. The Explorer roof is almost entirely sunroof. I figured a place we could make work at the back, went to stick the rack in and……Explorer roofs are ALUMINUM!!! Know your product, Hertz.

Went in on a Monday. The desk told us the price for 4 days wasn't much less than a week rental so we said we'd do the week. Noticed on Friday evening that the hertz email showed the car due Friday but now they are closed for the weekend and extending is going to cost $100 a day for the extra three days for an economy normally $41.50/day. Then Monday when we try to return the car there is no one there and they don't answer the phone. The Budget lady next door tried to help find them to no avail so we had to drop the keys in the box. Tried to get resolution over the weekend from Hertz customer service just got a message received we'll respond within 48 hours and the only response I received was a satisfaction survey. Will never use or recommend Hertz. Worst Experience ever!

I had the worst customer service experience at this location. Our flight from Orange County was cancelled and we rented a car from Hertz to drive home. The lady in CA arranged for us to drop off the car at the Provo Airport location and told us we needed to be there before 8 pm on Saturday. When we arrived, we found out that the location is only open Monday - Friday. So we did the express return and hoped nothing would happen to the car over the weekend. I called Monday at noon to check on my return. The girl told me she was the only employee working on 45 returns, but it would be completed by the end of the business day and I would get an email with a receipt. I waited nearly 24 hours and never got an email so I called again, but no one answered so I left a message. I called again at 1:30 and the girl answered the phone, but said she had just gone to lunch and asked if she could call me back after lunch. I waited for a call until 4:30 but when none came, I called again and was sent to voicemail once again so I left a second message. I never once got a call back or an email confirming my return had been received. On Wednesday at 5 pm (during "business hours") I drove to the airport in hopes of talking to a real person. Nobody was at the desk, so I called the number again that went to the same girl. She said she "wasn't around" but could be there in 15 minutes. She informed me that she wouldn't be able to print me a receipt anyway because it was so far out from the return, but I could go to Hertz.com and request a receipt (she had never told me of this option before). I still have $300 of pending charges on my credit card, and no sign of the regular rental charge, but I was able to find my receipt on the website. I chose not to wait around for her to decide to show up at her job. I will just dispute any incorrect charges that go through on my credit card. She never even bothered to call me back and see if I still needed help. I will not do business with this location again.

Terrible experience at Hertz today. Prepaid for an SUV, but when I got to the location they only had a compact. We were told we needed to drive the compact 1 hour out of our way to another location to get a minivan, and that is the best they could do. No discounts or refunds on our reservation, no problem solving, we were just left trying to fix their mistake. You’d think a prepaid reservation would be guaranteed. Stick with Alamo or Budget!

I'm an avid user of Hertz but their Provo Hertz operations is bad. If you want to rent a car and return it on Saturday, they will charge you full price until MONDAY MORNING as a penalty for them not operating on weekends there.

They charged us an additional airport fee on top of the airport charge already charged. You need to make your fees transparent to customers.

Amazing SERVICE! Heidi should be recognized because she was nothing but an amazing help! She took care of everything I needed help with, she explained everything perfectly, and made everything super easy!
Despite her being the only worker in this location, it seems like she’s nothing but great at what she does! Thank you Heidi!

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. The staff at this location displayed a lack of professionalism and courtesy. Despite being paying customers, we were provided with zero guidance on where to locate our rental car, forcing us to backtrack and seek assistance.
Upon approaching the counter, we were greeted by two individuals, one of whom seemed to have a permanent scowl etched on her face. Her demeanor was nothing short of rude and unwelcoming, making us feel like an inconvenience rather than valued customers.
As if that wasn't bad enough, as we were leaving, a friend overheard her making derogatory comments about individuals from California, saying “people from California are so dumb”. This level of prejudice and disrespect is completely unacceptable and reflects poorly on the entire establishment.
Hertz, it's time you reevaluate your hiring standards and prioritize the recruitment of individuals who possess basic decency and respect for all customers. Your reputation is on the line, and if this location is any indication, it's in dire need of an overhaul in both staffing and customer service practices.
