If I could give 0 stars I would. Go with a different rental company, literally any other one. I had a reservation booked and made sure to call before to make sure if they accepted my specific license. On the phone they had told me yes and that it should not be a problem.... I called AGAIN just to make sure and they AGAIN said not to worry that they do accept the license.
Once I arrived to pick up my rental they denied me my reservation and refused to give me my rental even after I tried explaining to them that I had called before to make sure.
Although very inconvenient and annoying, The issue was not so much that they denied the rental, I understand that maybe its a policy or something and that people are just trying to do their jobs, but it was more so their attitude and their refusal to help or elaborate AT ALL. Specifically the worker named Nadine there at YEG and another individual who was working at the same time. The worker who's name I did not get, refused to help or even elaborate what exactly the issue was with my license and then just LEFT. And then Nadine, the other worker just did not let me speak and refused to help at all.
When I had tried to explain to them my situation they would not let me speak and just told me that they would not rent me a car. No explanation nothing. When I tried telling them that I had called before hand to make sure my license and reservation was good they told me that it did not matter. To just try my luck somewhere else.
Instead of helping me with literally anything at all, they blew me off and told me "call the hertz number instead if you have an issue".
The attitude and their service was appalling from both workers I interacted with. All I need was a bit of help.

After this I had tried another rental company, Avis, who explained to me the issue with my license and then said that their company in particular doesn't accept it, but then recommended another company, enterprise, which did! If it wasn't for them I would have been stuck at the airport.

Go with Enterprise or avis if you're looking to rent a car. Avoid hertz.

Fiz a reserva pela Rentcars e chegando na loja o atendente disse que não tinha o carro pois se tratava de um carro para andar no verão. Como assim!? Aí discuti bastante ele falou para eu ter calma e que iria me dar um upgrade de um carro melhor e próprio para neve. Resumo, recebi o carro, passei o cartão, informei que não precisava de seguro porque meu cartão já possuía, mesmo assim, para minha surpresa foi cobrado seguro, pneus para neve, seguro para ar condicionado, tudo sem informar ao cliente. Eu já tinha pago pela reserva, fui enganado. Fujam dessa locadora de fundo de quintal e com funcionários maliciosos. Tenho cartão que já me dá seguro para que eu iria querer outro seguro!? Informei ao atendente que não queria seguro algum só queria o carro que reservei pela Rentcars. Paguei pela Rentcars e paguei na Hertz o que o atendente acrescentou maliciosamente… foi muito desonesto!

I booked a car with Hertz International Airport in September 2024. I turned up before opening hours and despite this was welcomed by Julie and received superb customer service from her.
It was remiss of me not to share my praise of Julie for her kindness and attention to the needs of my family at that time. I’m back in Australia now after a great time away and wanted to give praise where it is due, albeit later than I should have. Thanks Julie, your customer service is exemplary.

We had an exceptional experience at Hertz car rental at Edmonton Airport and I thought I’ll share it with you. The package that we ordered online did not suit us well and with the help of the staff and based on the recommendation, we have been given another package that suited as perfectly at the same price. We have encountered considerable difficulties, getting the GPS synchronize with the car and two of the Herz staff helped us to solve our problems. It required resetting the Car Play to factory settings. We are very appreciative for the excellent service that we got from the Herz team. Thank you guys

The car didn't have snow tires and got stuck several times in very little snow on paved roads in the city. You shouldn't be allowed to rent out cars that can't handle the weather (the snow was relatively mild....)

As a President Circle member of Hertz this is the worst rental experience I had compared to other Hertz. 2 stars were given as the line wasn’t too long when we pick up the car. However now problem started to come to us. First, the stall number was wrong so we took a while to find our car. Second, we rented a midsize SUV but was given a full size SUV which is an upgrade we do not need. Third, tire pressures were horribly wrong: 2 tires have 40+ psias while the other 2 has less than 32 psia. Apparently this Hertz does not care about passenger safety. Finally, dirty car. How can you NOT clean the car with fruit snacks all under the drivers seat before renting it out again? Overall bad experience. Stop asking me to send things to the link unless you’re about to refund my whole rental.

I recently rented a car from Hertz for a weekend trip, and overall, I had a positive experience. The booking process was smooth, and the wait time at the pickup counter was really short at 11pm. The Mercedes we rented was brand new but the driver and passenger seat was dirty, which we had to clean off. My only minor gripe was that our flight got changed and we couldn’t pick up at the original time so we didn’t get the vehicle that we booked. Overall, I would recommend Hertz for your car rental needs.

Très mauvaise expérience avec cette agence de location. Ils m'ont facturé une assurance auto d'environ 400 $ même si j'avais clairement précisé que j'avais ma propre assurance. Malgré mon refus, ils ont quand même ajouté ce montant. De plus, la voiture qui m'a été donnée ne correspondait en rien à la gamme que j'avais réservée. L'agent, d'origine indienne, a eu un comportement très raciste à mon égard, et l'ensemble du personnel partageait la même attitude. J'ai tenté de contacter l'agence plusieurs fois, mais soit ils raccrochaient, soit les réponses étaient incohérentes. Il est impossible de parler à une personne compétente. Heureusement, j'ai déposé une plainte solide contre l'agence, car toute la conversation avec l'agent a été filmée en direct. Cette affaire va coûter cher Mr Yusuf.
