Disappointing Car Rental Return Experience

I recently had a very frustrating experience returning a rental car at this location. When I arrived around 3 PM, there was nobody available to assist with the return. After waiting around, I was told that the staff was on lunch break—which seems highly unprofessional, especially in the middle of the afternoon.

To make matters worse, there were people inside the office who clearly saw me waiting outside but chose to ignore me entirely. Not a single person acknowledged my presence or made an effort to help, even though I was standing there for an extended period.

This level of service is unacceptable. I expect better from a reputable company, and I hope they address these issues to ensure other customers don't have to deal with the same poor experience.

El 14 de septiembre me chocaron mi auto, el seguro de la persona que me chocĂł me alquila un auto (TESLA) en este negocio, me atendiĂł un joven que no habla español y yo no hablo inglĂ©s, al entregar el auto lo reviso muy superficial le indico los daño que le vi, y el lo apunta en la computadora, al llegar a mi casa me percate que el parabrisa delantero tiene varios estillados, me regreso y le comento al joven que tiene varios estillados el parabrisa, el toma 1 foto y realiza un reporte en la computadora. A los dĂ­as el parabrisa en uno de los estilla se le abre una ralla voy a la arrendadora y le comento al joven y me dice que tengo que pagarlo por ese daño no estaba, le dije que “tu estas consiente que ese parabrisa ya tenia varios estillas”. Hace un reporte y en Octubre me llamaron para que pagarĂĄ el daño. Le comento te que no era justo que me cobre ese daño que yo no he ocasionado, le dije no me estoy negando a pagar solo le pedĂ­ que investigaran mĂĄs, le comente que fueron unos irresponsable al alquilarme ese auto en esas condiciones ya que mi vida corriĂł peligro., me dijeron que iban a investigaran mas. fue la ultima vez que hable con ellos, Me tomĂ© la tarea de investigar y me dijeron que ese tipo de auto por tener un parabrisa tan grande al tener estillas puede pasar eso, se parte de la nada , hoy 21 de Enero me llama una empresa de colecciĂłn para que pagara los 595,94 $ por el daño. Son unos irresponsable y creo que actuaron de mala fe. Anexo fotos de todas las estillas del parabrisa .

On September 14th my car was hit, the insurance of the person who hit me rented me a car (TESLA) at this business, a young man who doesn’t speak Spanish and I don’t speak English helped me, when I dropped off the car he checked it very superficially, I told him the damage I saw and he wrote it down on the computer, when I got home I noticed that the front windshield had several chips, I went back and told the young man that the windshield had several chips, he took a photo and made a report on the computer. A few days later, one of the chips on the windshield had a scratch, I went to the rental company and told the young man and he told me that I had to pay for that damage, it was not there, I told him “are you aware that that windshield already had several chips?” He made a report and in October they called me to pay for the damage. I told him that it was not fair that he charged me for the damage that I did not cause. I told him that I was not refusing to pay, I just asked him to investigate further. I told him that they were irresponsible to rent me that car in those conditions since my life was in danger. They told me that they were going to investigate further. It was the last time I spoke to them. I took on the task of investigating and they told me that with that type of car having such a large windshield and having splinters, that can happen. It starts from nothing. Today, January 21, a collection company called me to pay the $595.94 for the damage. They are irresponsible and I believe that they acted in bad faith. I am attaching photos of all the splinters on the windshield.

I wrecked my car on Saturday and was unable to get a car until Monday. Hertz was supposed to contact me to confirm my reservation and they never did . I had to contact them and when I get down there to get my rental the lady at the counter was rued and when I went to pay my deposit. There machine wouldn't read my bar code and she refused to try any of the other machines. So i was not able to get my rental. I had to contact my insurance company and get a reservation with a different company. It was a very frustrating and bad experience 😕

I am a President Circle Member who will never be renting from Hertz again and will also be taking legal action if hertz doesn’t reach out to me in a response.

I had a rental car reservation last week to pick up on September 6th. When I showed up there was a sign on the door that they were out picking up a car and would be back in 15 minutes.

It took them 30+ minutes to get back. A “man bun” giy opened the door and was super rude from the get go. Didn’t apologize for the wait or anything. I didn’t say anything and brushed it off, but then he tells me that my rental had been cancelled and they didn’t have any cars on the lot.

Are you kidding me Doesn’t even offer anything else just hands me a customer service number and didn’t even apologize for the inconvenience. He then starts calling other people right after notifying them they don’t have any cars on the lot. Why didn’t I get a heads up?

Completely screwed me over and terrible customer service. You won’t see me rent from hertz ever again and I’m currently working towards pursuing further action.

I had to rent from here because my car got in an accident. I originally rented for 5 days and paid for an additional driver for those 5 days. I had to extend twice and was not given a choice to include my additional driver or not, so I figured they weren't included on the extension, so they only drove for the 5 days we paid for. When I extended the rental it didn't have that charge listed, it only said "other" so I figured it was something else. Well when I went to return it, they told me the charge was for the additional driver and that they "couldn't take that charge off" and I would've had to come in to tell them to take the additional driver off, but I'm not sure how I could've known to do that since it wasn't stated in my agreement that would happen, nor did I even know what the charge was for. Not to mention, the tesla I rented was not cleared properly so I couldn't access the digital key, which is a big inconvenience since I couldn't see what charge the Tesla was at when I left it to charge or use any other remote features. Not only that, but a lot of Hertz' policies in the agreement are extremely vague, I had to look a lot of things up when I had questions and even then didn't find answers a lot of the time. I called Hertz customer service to do a remote reset on the Tesla so I could use the digital key, but the lady who helped me couldn't figure it out and when she tried to transfer me the higher agent told her to figure it out when she clearly didn't know what to do. Overall Hertz has vague policies, lackluster customer service, and will work against you at every opportunity. I'd say save yourself the hassle and $200+ in fees and rent anywhere else.

I had a strange experience with Draper Hertz. I came into the Hertz office and no one greeted me or acknowledged my presence for 15 minutes while there was only one customer being helped and two employees sitting at the desk.

I understand that employees get busy, but common courtesy is to acknowledge a customer and let them know that you will help them as soon as you are able. This happened morning 6/20/24.

I needed to start my day early. I arrived minutes before opening. The manager got there late, It took awhile for the office to ready to handle customers. They didn't have enough clean/ready cars. I end up having to accept a different vehicle than I selected. Its clean seal sticker was already broken. It took 38 minutes to drive away with a car.

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS HERTZ LOCATION!!! I made a reservation 5 days in advance, and when I arrived, I was told that there were no cars available and that there was nothing that could be done. I asked about going to the Hertz airport location but was told that the airport is a "different system" and that they do not have to honor reservations made at this location, even if the airport has cars available (so I would likely have to pay a much higher price for a same-day reservation). I was also told that this Hertz location had verified the day before that there were enough cars for the day. However, too many reservations were made overnight (why did Hertz allow so many reservations to be made overnight?), so there were no more cars when I arrived. This means that someone who made a reservation overnight was given priority over my reservation which was made 5 days in advance. The person who helped me was very polite and patient. However, I think her hands were tied, and she just had no power or ability to help me. I'm not sure why this Hertz location even bothers taking reservations if they don't intend to honor them (or even bother to have cars moved from other nearby Hertz locations if they are overbooked).
