Scam running here, they over charged us $1500! We reserved our economy car using Expedia it was to cost us $214.32 CND. The car was there for us and clean, with full tank of gas. We got charged $584.46. I figured that must have a deposit on it. We returned the car several days later with a full tank of gas, NO DAMAGE and an hour early. The return was strange but easy. I got an unexpected charge later to my card. I thought I'd be getting my deposit back, instead I got another charge for $1184.19! No explanation. I reach out to Expedia right away, still nothing. We will reach out to National once home and dispute the calharges with VISA. But be warned they are running a scam here.

Not recommended if traveling with babies/kids

I give them 1* as it is the minimum possible. We rented a Compact Car with National including group 1 baby seat.

The baby seat model was old, but the problem was how dirty the baby seat was (you can judge by yourself by looking at the picture). This is not a safety issue, but unsanitary and can easily ruin the trip as there is no chance you would seat the most important person in the family in that seat! Finally, the problem was fixed thanks to EUROPCAR, who rented us a brand new Maxi-Cosi. If you are traveling with babies or kids and you need to rent a car, I recommend you to avoid National.

The other point that was shocking was when I complained in the National counter about the status of the car. In their screen it looked like that the car had a lot of damage. I have to say that at the end was not bad, but it looked like that at the time of signing the agreement. But what shocked me was that they told me that if the car was damaged was because the customers were not taking care about it. This is entirely true to my judgment, but when you are renting the car you can pay for the Exceed Protection, which reduces your financial responsibility limits to the minimum or otherwise you would have to pay some bills in case of damage or accident and National will charge you. So for me, the customer is causing the damage, but in one way or the other paying for it. So to my understanding National should repare any damage and in any case should give this response to a client. But as I said, this is my personal opinion.

I have booked a car with National. Arrived in front of the desk at 10min to 8.
At 8.30 only 1 person had his car.
The boy of National (1 people only for 9 people waiting) was anyway very happy completely unaware of the people waiting.
It is absolutelynot serious.
Do not rentcars with National Alamo or Enterprise (same grupo, same desk same service and only 1 people). They maybe have lower prices than other becaise of bad service. Same situation happemed in Dusseldorfairport.

Jasmyn was my representative today at National Car Rental and she provided friendly, outstanding service. It was the perfect welcome to my first visit to Germany. She gave me the best possible vehicle which is in mint condition. Highly recommend! Thanks Jasmyn!
