We had a very terrible experience with them, especially at the Sugarland Location as at the time of pick up the car was on half tank of gas and we made sure that to inform one of their employee and she said that’s OK once you return the car just give it at half tank and I will update it in the contract. And then at the time of return we made sure with a Hertz representative that it was in the notes or the contract that we have to return back as a half tank he said yes you are good to go but later when I checked my receipt they had charged us $90 extra charge for gas plus Extra hidden fees. The picture that’s added is from the time of picking up the vehicle.

This location was by far my fastest experience with picking up a car rental ever, when having to deal with on-site assistance.

The two rental agents work as a team to insure my reservation was processed and that I was in and out in no time. A great experience!

This past Monday, I was running behind and had an appointment an hour away from Sugar Land. I mentioned my situation to Mrs. D and Mrs Tiffany and they wasted no time—within minutes, I was in a clean, newer-model car and back on the road. Thanks to her, I made it to my appointment on time.

I truly appreciate the outstanding service—thank you again, Mrs. D!

This Hertz is untrustworthy

Workers seem angry they have to be there. There was one worker that was helping/talking to a lady for 30 minutes while I'm guessing the manager sat in her office w/the door open. She finally came out and helped us.

I rented from them through Expedia. Showed up and there's a $500 down payment that's returned once they get the vehicle back. Which that's okay but it's super inconvenient for that be sprung on you as you're leaving for a trip. Which was my case. They need to work on conveying these things better to customers once booked.

On Expedia they offer to insure the car for $21/day. Show up here and they try to sell you car insurance again? Except now it's 40+/day and apparently different? I mention it was $21 on Expedia and so she decides she'll price match it for me.

Now tolls. They let you pay ahead for a charge of $14/day or you can just pay for the number of tolls you crossed after the trip. I chose the second option since I knew I wouldn't be driving through $14 worth of tolls a day while renting. BUT they don't explain that there is a convenience fee if you pick this option. So while my toll charges were lower this way, they charged me $30 as a convenience fee. This brought the amount I paid for tolls more than the $14/day in the end.

The car I received had a gummy bear on the floor of the front seat, which is not a big deal. BUT then the windshield was so dirty it made it hard to see. Even after using the windshield wipers with water it didn't clean up. I genuinely had never seen a windshield dirty to the extent that it was causing glares. So I guess they also expect customers to clean the dirty cars they give. They need to at the very least have them clean enough to be safe to drive

They are very clearly are just trying to scam customers out of a few more dollars in every way they can.

Attached is picture of the car given to me from the front. I didn't have a picture of the windshield only but you can see all the dead bugs? on the front and on the little part of the windshield that shows as well. A picture of the gummy bear/dirty floor and the convenience fee they didn't tell me about.

The owner responds with the same unauthentic message to all negative reviews rather than actually taking any action to do better. They clearly do not care about the people giving them business.

I had the absolute worst experience at this location and overall with Hertz. I showed up to pick up my reservation which I made in the Hertz website that I paid for in full and made over 2 weeks ago and they told me they don't have a vehicle for me. They basically said sorry but there is nothing they can do. I was shocked and told them I need a vehicle otherwise I will have to probably cancel my whole vacation. I had reserved a Large SUV and the person at the counter tried to give me a minivan, even claiming that the minivan would end up being costlier and tried to get me to pay more money for a minivan!!They also told me that making a reservation online and paying in full does not guarantee a vehicle when you show up at the location. This was news to me and makes no sense. Why do they even have that option if it doesn't guarantee a customer their vehicle!! This whole thing felt like a scam to me. I even called Hertz reservation and they couldnt find me a large SUV anywhere in Houston! Please stay away from Hertz and from this location. They do not care about customers, they do not care if you have plans with your family that is dependent on you getting a vehicle.

BEWARE! Bait and switch. They will try to upgrade you saying that your reservation vehicle is not available. You have to contact Hertz customer service to get upgraded for free since they don't have your reserved car. The front desk lady is very rude and will try to make excuses. Management knows they have a problem but is not addressing it. The car was dirty, and I found an iPad in the vehicle. I rented a black Malibu, and the IPad was in a black otter box. I turned it into the front desk. I hope the front desk contacts the previous renter, but I wouldn't bet on it. Worst rental car experience I have ever had.

Update: I put in the address that is in Hertz response to this review, and it is just a generic page! I previously filled out the survey emailed to me post rental and picked the option to be contacted. I have yet to be contacted.

I got a rental from there recently. I haven’t been in the vehicle that much until this weekend. They gave me a filthy car. The car is nasty inside out. I recently called the location to swap out the vehicle but some reason someone answer to say let look into it and never come back to the phone.

Went to pick up the rental Pick Up truck and they said that it needed a oil change that I had to get another truck and to go back a switch now I have call 2 times and left my number and till now no one has return my call back. But they are charging the insurance for the pick up truck rental. The lady that help me was nice in a kind way. Another thing y'all have to work on is letting the people now that we have to make a diposit fee before going over to pick the car/truck up, imaging not taking a card or so and they asking for a deposit.
